while Growing in Grace"
-Matt. 28:19-20, 2 Pet. 3:18
Every marriage goes through their season of disappointments, frustration, and dissatisfaction. The seasons of nature is just an analogy of changes that occur in a marriage as well as life. As I continue to talk about married life, we can apply these same principles to life as a person.
We are in a Winter season when marriage seems the most difficult. It is our emotions, attitude, and actions that will determine how long we spend in each season. Winter in a marriage can look like coldness, harshness, and bitterness. Emotionally, our hurt and anger can result in hopelessness. Our negative attitude is like a bitter wind in winter. Negative attitudes beget negative actions.
Do not be discouraged beloved, if you are experiencing a winter season. Proverbs 30:5 encourages us that joy comes in the morning. In his book, Dr. Chapman has giving us 7 strategies to enhance our winter season of marriage. The positive side of Winter is Hope, Confession, and Forgiveness. It is through forgiveness that will make room for rekindled Love.
Until our next moment,
